Back to Burgundy

The vineyards of Burgundy are the stunning backdrop of this warm family drama about estranged siblings putting resentments aside to save their family estate.

Jean returns to Burgundy on the request of his dying father, after ten years living and working in Australia. His arrival is greeted with tension and recriminations for his long, silent absence. When the father dies, Jean and his siblings – an angry brother and a sister with a talent for winemaking – are faced with the prospect of having to sell their vineyards. The only alternative is for the three to come together, use their respective skills, and make great wines. Filmed over four seasons and taking full advantage of the alluring scenery, Cédric Klapisch (The Spanish Apartment, SFF 2003) brings together emotional family drama, romance and mouth watering wine into a winning combination.
