An entertaining tale of passionate competitors and their race for poultry glory: there's fowl language in this feathered version of Best in Show – but it's the clucking kind!
The lengths to which the Chicken People must go to achieve the all-important American Standard of Perfection is nothing less than extraordinary. The bird that takes the title of Grand Champion at the Ohio National Poultry Show must be perfect down to the last feather. Over a year, director Nicole Lucas Haimes followed the devoted breeders as they battled genetics and avian flu. There's homemaker Shari, with 200 chickens and five kids, self-confessed ‘hatchoholic' Brian K., and show-tunes singer Brian C. Each have their burdens, and each finds comfort with their feathered friends. "Poultry is a bit of an oasis for me…chickens don't judge." In this heart-warming documentary, it's only the chickens that get the critical eye.
