All good things must come to an end, and the Sydney Film Festival is offering you the chance to bid farewell to twelve days of wonderful cinema with our Closing Night Gala. Get your tickets now to this exciting event.
Last year’s festival ended on the hilarious Love & Friendship and in 2017 we’re excited to bring you another rousing curtain-closer. The name of the film will be revealed with our festival launch on Wednesday 10 May.
Our Closing Night festivities on Sunday 18 June, held once more at the grand State Theatre, will feature an awards ceremony including presentations for the Documentary Foundation Award and the Dendy Awards for Australia Short Films. Celebrating its tenth year, the prestigious Sydney Film Prize will once again be awarded to the film judged the best among the Official Competition, a prize of $60,000. The winner will join titles like Asghar Farhardi’s Oscar winning A Separation, Steve McQueen’s haunting Hunger, and last year’s winner, the controversial Brazilian drama Aquarius.
Tickets are priced at $30 ($28 for concession holders) so don’t miss this exciting night and bit farewell to Sydney Film Festival for another year.
