PARKING

Please note that the Library does not have an accessible drop-off zone.
 
You can find accessible parking spaces at:
-          Shakespeare Place, at the corner of Macquarie Street and the Cahill Expressway - 4 spaces

You can find additional parking spaces at:
-          155 Macquarie Street, near the Bent Street intersection - 2 spaces, 120 metres from the Library
-          Sydney Eye Hospital Car Park, Hospital Road - 200 metres from the Library

Accessibility Information

ACCESS

The Library is an accessible venue with wheelchair access to most areas of the two buildings. If you require assisted entry, please contact the Library on 02 9273 1414.
 
The Library has two buildings – the Macquarie Street building and the Mitchell Library building. During Sydney Film Festival 2025 you will need to enter via the Mitchell Library building. Both buildings are wheelchair accessible and have lifts which provide access between floors, some of which have braille signage and audible signals.
 
If you require assistance navigating around the library, staff at the Information Desk in the Mitchell Vestibule are happy to help and have a courtesy wheelchair available.
 
AUDIO
The Library Auditorium has a hearing loop which is accessible from every seat.
 
BATHROOMS
Accessible toilets are available on the ground level of the Mitchell Library building, and the lower ground level of the Macquarie Street building next to the Glasshouse.
 
The accessible toilet in the Macquarie Street building has braille signage.
